concept film \\ scrippiesOur final concept film of the year!! This one is extra special for us because our cousin, Leo, is the groom and Marilyn’s cousin, Lorelee, is the bride. Ever since Leo proposed to Lorelee a year ago, we’ve been working on the story for their video, and it practically wrote itself! Leo was inspired by the movie “The Wood” starring Omar Epps and Taye Diggs (see if you can spot our homage to this movie in our film).
Their story began in 1996 when they met for the first time at Scripps Ranch High School – which also happens to be my alma mater. Brainstorming ideas for this film was nostalgic – from blonde tips for the guys and bangs for the girls to pagers and letterman jackets – the pre-production process was just as much fun as the actual filming of the movie!
By the way, recognize the guys in the movie? They’re from our other concept film “A Sin City Love Story“! These guys have been best friends since high school. I consider them all my little brothers. Two of them are still unmarried… that means more epic movies to come in the future!

This is a great love story. And the early 90’s soundtrack is AWESOME! Ah, the good ol’ days. Excellent writing, acting, and execution. Look out Coen Brothers… here come the Dumlaos.
Nothing like living our glory days! FABULOUS job! I can’t wait to watch you guys on TV when you accept your Oscar!
Congrats Lorelee & Leo! Looks like it was a beautiful wedding!
I loved this.. it was a walk down memory lane for me, too! Oh.. the days of being a Scrippie
Hey Mel, I was actually browsing through the 2000 yearbook last week and I saw you in there! I didn’t know you went to Scripps too. Go Falcons!
Fantastic work guys! The Aldor family loved it! This is one of those videos I can watch over and over again and laugh just as hard as I did the first time!
Love it–it’s like saved by the bell–scrippie style! Takes me back too. Congrats Leo and Lorelee!
That was so classic! Love loved it…..couldn’t stop laughing~ last out take especially. Can’t wait to work with you guys for our concept video one day. We are now in VA, but will need to hook up with you guys soon. Hope you remember us
Hey Janet. Of course we remember you. Mr. & Mrs. Brock! I’m looking forward to producing that film for you guys too! Just let us know when you’ll be back again so we can start brainstorming ideas!
