When Maeden & Derwyn approached us regarding the treatment for their concept film, they had only two specific directions: make it fun and hilarious! And we were definitely aiming for that when producing this larger-than-life, unique tale of Sin City.
A lot of creativity was put in to achieving this visual look – definitely not the easiest project we have done. But certainly a whole lot of fun putting together!
Synopsis: Lieutenant Derwyn and his ragtag group of detectives is solving an unusual crime that somehow has him involved. All the while, clues left from the crime scene stir up memories from his once-romantic past. He suspects that the mystery to this crime may lead him to the girl he once loved and lost. But how will they both resolve the fact that they are now opposite sides of the law?

Afterthought: Maeden and Derwyn are only a few years younger than me. And I have known them both since they were in high school. When I got the call from Derwyn asking for our video services for their wedding, I was genuinely elated for them. The movie starts off with the caption “10 years ago.” This number was intentional because it truly is the length of time that they have been together. I asked them what it was that kept their relationship intact for all these years. They said that “humor”, along with the love/support from their family and friends, played a big part in their years together.

Finally, the secret’s out – the online premiere of Rodney & Kathy’s concept film!! For the past few months, the newlyweds kept this video a secret from their guests and bridal party by simply dubbing it a “Love Story.” And what a surprise everyone got last Saturday when this typical Love Story turned out to be anything but!! And Rodney & Kathy got a surprise of their own too when they realized we added a Same-Day Edit to the video. It was a night full of surprises!

Because of the new Star Wars movie coming out in a couple of months, it got me thinking about the Star Wars concept video that we filmed back in 2005. I haven’t seen it in a while, and it was fun to sit back and just laugh at the silliness that went on in that production. Not to mention noticing the progress we’ve gone through in the years since then!
Here’s a quick clip from that video where one of the groomsmen meets Obiwan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker to help out in the wedding planning. It was the first thing we shot that day, and it was just a lot of fun. It really set the mood for the rest of the shoot that weekend.

This was the last concept video we produced in 2005 with our previous company, Soundstorm Entertainment. The groom, Joe, is a very very big fan of the Star Wars movies, and he wanted for us to produce a concept film in that theme. Lucky for him, we are all big Star Wars fans as well! The creative staff spent a day just watching all 6 Star Wars movies, and we went to work in writing the script. What we came up with was an amazing video that incorporated all 6 episodes of Star Wars while Joe, Sheryl, and all their bridesmaids and groomsmen walked around and interacted in this galaxy from far, far away…

Adam takes flight in a never-before-seen rendition of the classic movie – Top Gun.
Synopsis: With the aid of his Best Man (MJ) and groomsmen, Adam is able to overcome his pre-wedding jitters; but not before Tom Cruise and Anthony Edwards gets a chance to poke fun at him first. Meanwhile, Sarah and her bridesmaids define what it means to be their sweet-talkin’, sugar coated Candyman!
